Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district—in particular Targowa Street—is a real second-hand hotspot. Whatever you’re looking for (and whether you’re looking for anything at all), you can just head to Targowa and visit each second-hand shop in turn, sure of finding something special. Some offer goods with a price tag, while others sell them by weight at the ‘price of the day’. There is usually a new delivery once a week, so you can discover more used clothes, accessories or toys every seven days.
‘Vintage’ stores usually offer more than just clothes. You will also find salvaged furniture, iconic electronics, and retro decor items—things of particular interest to lovers of 70s-to-90s style.
Charity shops in Warsaw are gaining ever more fans. These are stores where you help by buying. You can choose from among the second-hand clothes and accessories, and the shop will donate the profits from your purchases to support people in need, migrants or hospices, depending on the store’s mission.
