Shopping Malls and Outlets
When you’re not sure what you’re looking for and need a variety of stores and brands, a shopping centre is a great choice. Almost every district of Warsaw has its own local mall with shops, restaurants and entertainment, so there is plenty to choose from.
If during your stay in Warsaw you mainly stick to the city centre, choose Złote Tarasy (Golden Terraces) for larger purchases. It is the most recognisable mall due to its central location, architectural connection to the Central Railway Station and distinctive glass roof. You will find a wide range of shops and restaurants. With recognition and a good location comes great popularity, so expect quite a lot of customers and tourists. On the other side of Marszałkowska Street, you can also visit the rather less crowded Domy Towarowe Centrum (Centrum Department Stores), which offer a number of fashion stores.
For an even wider selection of brands, go to Westfield Arkadia on the boundary of Downtown (Śródmieście) and Żoliborz districts. This shopping mall, the largest in Warsaw, offers a wide selection of stores (from affordable to more exclusive brands), a number of restaurants, a large cinema, and children’s attractions.
Regardless of which districts of Warsaw you visit, almost every one has a shopping centre—from larger ones like as Westfield Mokotów or Wola Park, to slightly smaller ones such as Galeria Wileńska or Sadyba Best Mall.
The Elektrownia Powiśle—one of the smaller but more atmospheric malls—is especially worth a visit if you dislike crowds and are interested in smaller boutiques and Polish brands.
If you like snapping up real bargains, check out one of Warsaw’s popular outlet centres—Factory Annopol. This modestly-sized outlet centre on the right bank of the Vistula River houses boutiques of many chic brands, so it is a great choice if you plan to buy a suit, coat, sportswear or shoes.
