Exploring the interior of the Palace of Culture and Science is a rare chance to discover one of Poland’s most recognisable landmarks from the inside. During your visit, you’ll see grand halls, richly decorated corridors and learn about the building’s history and architecture. The Viewing Terrace, located on the 30th floor, has long been one of the Palace’s most popular attractions. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the city – a sight that delights both tourists and locals alike. Thanks to its unique location and unforgettable panorama, the terrace has become one of the most visited spots in the entire building – a must-see for anyone wanting to see Warsaw from a new perspective. During the summer season (from 27 June to 30 August 2025), the Viewing Terrace is open until 22:30 every Friday and Saturday, giving visitors the chance to admire Warsaw’s breathtaking night skyline from 114 metres above the ground. Discover the most fascinating galleries and exhibitions
The small but fascinating Museum of Evolution, located inside the Palace of Culture and Science (entrance from Świętokrzyska Street), features remarkably well-preserved dinosaur remains, fossilised eggs and the remains of primitive mammals. Though compact, the museum offers a captivating journey through millions of years of life on Earth. Another highlight within the Palace is the National Museum of Technology – one of the oldest institutions of its kind in Poland. Here, you’ll find vintage cars, Poland’s first computers, steam engines and aircraft models. Among the most valuable exhibits are the Odra computer, iconic Sokół motorbikes and an original 19th-century calculator.
In July this year, the famous Neon Museum moved from Praga to the Palace of Culture and Science (4th floor, entrance from Marszałkowska Street). The museum is considered one of the most Instagrammable spots in Warsaw. It preserves and reconstructs illuminated signs designed by leading graphic artists and architects – iconic pieces of post-war Polish urban identity. The museum offers a close-up look at the skill of designers and craftspeople, and its interactive exhibition helps visitors understand the cultural role of neon signage in the urban landscape, while also appreciating its artistic value.
If you’re planning a visit to the Palace of Culture and Science, don’t miss the Spider Exhibition! This unique display features rare and extraordinary species of arachnids from around the world – many of which are hard to encounter in the wild. Visitors can learn fascinating facts about the lives, behaviour and anatomy of these creatures, shared by knowledgeable experts. The programme also includes live demonstrations, where you can watch spiders hunt, weave webs and move in real time. One of the highlights is the chance to safely and calmly interact with selected specimens – including the unforgettable experience of holding a harmless tarantula in your hand.
Surrounding parks and squares
In summer, the area around the Palace comes alive with cultural events. In winter, it draws skating enthusiasts with a free outdoor ice rink, complete with skate hire. After dark, the building is beautifully illuminated, and on special occasions, additional light displays highlight its unique character. The heart of Warsaw is constantly evolving – and so is the area around the Palace. This year saw the opening of Plac Centralny – a green space filled with trees and shrubs that quickly became a new social and cultural meeting point. Concerts, performances and artistic happenings are regularly held here. And the changes don’t stop there – the newly opened Museum of Modern Art is also worth noting. Its sleek, minimalist design stands in striking contrast to the Palace’s monumental Socialist Realist architecture.
