New Town – less obvious version

We start on the Gdański Bridge. It is the one of the most photogenic objects in the city, the destination of numerous photography enthusiasts. One of the most beautiful panoramas of the Old Town and the skyscrapers of the Center stretches from here.

From the bridge, we go straight to the Traugutt Park, which gives us different impressions at any time of the day and year. We will find here one of the saddest sculptures of our city – “Motherhood” by W. Szymanowski. However, in Fort Legionów, apart from the outstanding architecture, you can buy fresh products at the food market.

Przyrynek Street, apart from the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is also the building of the Architectural and Construction School complex with a large glass staircase. Vis a vis the school is Samborska Street, the shortest in Poland. It is said that it was here that Chopin came up with the idea of composing his shortest waltz (Waltz Minutes in D flat major).

Passing the New Town Square (ah!) with the church of St. Kazimierza, we come to Stara Street, beautiful also from the backyard side. I can’t understand why this urban beauty is avoided by walkers! It is appreciated by the filmmakers still working here. And under number “4” there is WCIES, where you can watch exhibitions of works by children and youth of the capital, often surprising with their artistic level.

The end of Stara Street will reward us with a beautiful perspective of the defensive walls and Mostowa Street. This is one of the most photogenic routes in Warsaw!
