Chopin Concerts in Warsaw

Did you know that Fryderyk Chopin spent the first half of his 39-year life in Warsaw? It was here that he learnt to play the piano and gave his first recital when he was just eight years old. In later years, he performed numerous concerts in the halls of Warsaw’s aristocracy. Today too, you can listen to his enchanting music at many places in the capital.

If you are visiting Warsaw between May and September, make sure to go to Łazienki Park. Surrounded by the beautiful greenery you will hear the famous free recitals organised non-stop since 1959.

Concerts in the café on the roof of the Chopin Boutique hotel will provide an interesting experience – a breath-taking view of Warsaw stretches out from here.

You can spend a romantic evening with music and a glass of wine at one of the intimate concert halls in the Old Town.

For those interested in the composer’s turbulent life, there are recitals organised at the Chopin Museum and at the artist’s birthplace – Żelazowa Wola.

And music lovers the world over make a note in their diaries for the International Chopin Piano Competition. It is one of the world’s most prestigious piano events, held every five years at Warsaw’s National Philharmonic.
