Museum of Maria Skłodowska-Curie
Visit the place where on 7 November1867, Maria Skłodowska was born. The only woman to receive the Nobel Prize twice and the only winner in history honoured in two different fields of natural sciences – physics and chemistry.
At the exhibition devoted to the life and work of the great scientist you will see authentic equipment and objects belonging to the Nobel Prize winner or from her times, including photos of her and her closest family and friends, documents, stamps, coins, medals, newspapers from the 1920s and 1930s, books as well as nineteenth-century furniture and small laboratory instruments.
Pay attention to the elephant donated to Maria by President Herbert Hoover and the leather purse in which she received the money to set up the Radium Institute.
