Culinary Events

Regularly occurring culinary events give Warsaw some added flavour and are worth considering when planning a visit to Poland’s capital. Here are some of them:

Restaurant Week is a major festival, held several times a year in Warsaw and other big cities. Participating restaurants offer guests special three-course menus at budget prices. Without making too big a dent in one’s wallet, one can sample the fare of many different restaurants and discover new, previously unvisited establishments. A delight for gourmets is a special edition of the festival devoted to fine-dining restaurants offering guests sophisticated cuisine, quality service and an elegant atmosphere. During that event, restaurants prepare for their guests a five-course sampling menu at a very attractive price.

Regular food-truck and mobile-pub rallies enjoy great popularity.
At such events, in an open-air setting a visitor can sample food and drink from around the globe: burgers, Asian wontons, crêpes and bottled desserts, Thai ices, Vietnamese canapés, etc. During the event, prizes are awarded for the best Warsaw street food in a contest sponsored by a local newspaper.

The Warsaw Beer Festival is the leading event of its kind in Poland. This weekend festival enables craft brewers from across Poland and abroad to showcase their wares. Apart from sampling and purchasing beer, visitors may attend lectures and take part in taste tests commented on by brewing experts.

Do you fancy eating something delicious and surprising? On summer weekends, be sure to visit one of the breakfast markets. You will find everything you want, from vegetarian dishes to gluten-free and organic products. The most popular ones are held in Żoliborz and Mokotów, but you will also find them in other districts.

If you are a night owl and are not afraid to eat late, then this is the place for you. The old Warsaw Central Train Station has gained a new life thanks to the gathering of food lovers organised here every Saturday and Sunday. This is where you will get the best street food in town, with a wealth of tastes – from traditional to oriental.

Warsaw food lovers are eagerly anticipating a week with delicious cuisine. Twice a year, chefs from the best restaurants in Warsaw prepare a spectacular menu at a special festival price.
